Dueglow Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Grid Heap, Inc., a Delaware corporation, handles information for the Dueglow website and apps. The Android closed-test release stores your library on your device and temporarily disables account sign-in, cloud synchronization and AI assistance. It does not initialize Clerk, restore an account session or send your library to the synchronization or AI services. Public maps, cover images and content lookups remain available as described below. Where other Dueglow releases offer account features, those features are optional and the corresponding sections of this policy apply.

Offline library and permissions

Events, milestone dates, notes, journeys, travel plans, preferences and selected cover images are stored in app-private storage on your device. The Android system photo picker gives access only to images you select. The Android release does not request device location permission or collect background GPS history. Notifications and reminder scheduling are optional device permissions. Data you export or share goes to the destination you choose.

Accounts and cloud synchronization

These account features are unavailable in the Android closed-test release. In releases that offer them, Clerk processes your email address, account identifier, verification information and session/security information to provide sign-in and account management. When you choose to synchronize, Dueglow's hosted service stores your events, milestones, notes, cover references, shared settings, manually confirmed place journeys and their selected place coordinates, deletion records, device/installation identifier, platform and synchronization timestamps. Android travel plans and local photo bytes remain on your device in the closed-test release. Selecting a place is different from collecting your device's GPS position. Authentication tokens in account-enabled releases are handled by Clerk and authorize requests.

Online assistance, maps and external content

AI assistance is unavailable in the Android closed-test release. In releases that offer online assistance, your prompt, recent conversation messages, language, time zone and current event details included in the request are sent to Dueglow's API and processed through Grid Heap's AI Runtime and the model/service providers used for that request. Avoid including sensitive information you do not want processed for an online response.

In the Android closed-test release, map views still request styles and tiles from OpenFreeMap and its delivery providers, which receive network/request information including your IP address and the map area requested. Online place discovery, cover searches and catalogues transmit the search or lookup information needed to return results; third-party sources such as Unsplash and Pexels may process requests when their content is used. These requests do not upload your offline events, notes, local photos or travel plans. External links open the provider's service under its own policy.

Purposes, service providers and security

We use information to provide the requested features, authenticate accounts, synchronize your library, answer support requests, prevent abuse and keep the service reliable. Hosting, database, authentication, network and model providers may process information on our behalf or to provide the service you requested. Standard technical records may include IP addresses, request times, URLs, client/platform information and errors. The Android app does not contain advertising or an analytics SDK, and Clerk telemetry is disabled in its SDK configuration. We do not sell personal information or use Dueglow to build advertising profiles. Hosted requests use HTTPS. No transmission or storage method is guaranteed to be completely secure.

Delete your Dueglow account and data

The Android closed-test release cannot create or access an account and has no account-deletion menu. You can delete its local events in the app, or remove all local app data with Android's clear-storage control or by uninstalling the app. In Android releases that offer accounts, open Settings → Account & sync → Delete account and confirm. Dueglow first removes the hosted synchronization library, revision/deletion history and registered devices, then requests deletion of the Clerk account. If either step fails, the app reports the failure and keeps synchronization paused while you retry. That account-deletion operation retains the offline events on your device.

You can request account and hosted-data deletion without the app by emailing legal@gridheap.com with the subject “Dueglow account deletion” and the email address used for your Dueglow account. Do not send your password or verification code. We may verify that you control the account before acting. These instructions are available without installing or signing in to the app.

Retention and your rights

We retain hosted library information while needed to provide your chosen account features or until deletion is requested. Deletion removes the active synchronization records and account as described above. Restricted backups and records needed for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations or disputes may be retained for those purposes and removed in accordance with the retention cycles that apply to those records. You may request access, correction, deletion or restriction by contacting legal@gridheap.com. We may need to verify the request. We may disclose information when required by law or in a corporate transaction subject to appropriate protections.

Website storage, children and international processing

The public website does not intentionally set advertising or analytics cookies; infrastructure and sign-in services may use necessary storage/security mechanisms. Dueglow is not directed to children under 13. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries with different data protection laws. Where applicable, we rely on the legal bases and safeguards required for providing the requested service, consent, legitimate operational/security interests, and legal obligations.

The website currently delivers Inter from its own origin, with native system fonts for CJK text and as a fallback. It does not request Adobe Fonts or ask for font consent. The licensed Adobe project remains configured but delivery is disabled pending a service-specific processing and transfer review. This font policy does not authorize optional analytics or advertising.
